Our Baby Sparrow Is Enjoying The Morning

The little bird house in the tree, placed there a couple years ago by one of our residents,  had a pair of sparrows nesting this spring.  I watched as they flew in and out with tasty morsels the last couple of weeks.  You can definitely see when it is a white moth they had caught.
Today the youngster is out of the house and sitting in the tree inches from his home.
Still looking very fluffy, yet his colors are coming in pretty well.

The thumbprint under his chin is very visible.

Another side view of the little guy...or gal.

You can still see a lot of the fluffy down across his back.

This is 4 hours later, another branch further from home.

His journey today wasn't very far, but its a start.

Its another lovely day here in Maine.  Temps will reach the high 70sF today as they did yesterday with lower humidity, but I'm sure I will still need the a/c going.  My apt. is a very warm one, getting the sun from morning til afternoon.

Have a nice day.
